Leave approval doesn't get simpler than Microsoft Teams.
The Workflow
When an employee submits a leave request, their manager/approver will automatically be notified in Microsoft Teams chat with a message specifying all relevant details of the leave request, including:
- The requesting employee
- The type of leave requested
- The days and/or times requested
- A list of reportees that are already approved for time off during that day or date range
- Any comments left by the requester
Upon receiving the Teams chat request, the approver will see an "Approve" or "Deny" button, allowing single-click approval or rejection. Once approved or rejected, the approver will have the additional of leaving a comment for the requester. This approval/denial, along with any comments, will trigger an immediate notification to the requesting employee letting them know the status of their request.
A note: Managers will receive regular reminders if they don't approve leave on the day requested. They can also pull up their pending approval queue any time by chatting "pending" to PTOZEN.
